Sea- Teacher

The sea teaches me

that everything changes

Once sharp glass or colourful shells

are now powdered sand covered

the cute territorial seals splashing happily

against sparkling rhythmic patterned

waves ‘neath high mountains darkened

in the contrast of the midday sun

Can end up lying lifeless

half gull pecked shouldered

against sea moss covered Shore boulders

That choppy waters

Follow calm waters

follow roaring waves

follow gentle ripples

that breathing in deeply

to the very soul of my lungs

will quash the cold -pain

winter water’s stinging lick

sends to the nape of my neck

that deep beneath the changing surface there’s a deep calm

-quiet dream sounds and weightless motion

colliding in a beautiful symphony of presence

the sea teaches me
